A woman was rescued Thursday morning after she reportedly overdosed on fentanyl in midtown.

At around 7 a.m., Tucson Police Department officers were dispatched to a duplex located in the 2600 block of North Haskell Drive near Alvernon Way and Grant Road to reference to a report of an unknown trouble call.

Upon arrival, TPD discovered a 40-year-old woman who appeared to have overdosed on fentanyl inside the duplex. The officers immediately gave the woman a dose of Narcan.

The officers then transported her outside and gave her a second dose of the opioid antagonist.

After Tucson Fire Department crews arrived at the scene to assist with treatment, the woman regained consciousness.

While she declined further treatment at the hospital, TPD said she "as given information on resources to get help and treatment."
