TGV2 Change my Mind: The AR-15 forward assist serves a purpose (Spoiler: I used it and it worked)

I was at the range and used the forward assist and it did what I think it was designed to do. While I am not passionate either way about its inclusion on an AR-15, I now think more than before it serves a purpose. What do you think? Change my mind.
