CHP fixed wing aircraft assist Pinole PD to find a missing adult in Pinole Valley Park

Earlier this afternoon AIR-37, CHP’s fixed wing aircraft, was requested by the Pinole Police Department to assist in the search of a missing adult in distress in and around the area of Pinole Valley Park.

AIR-37 responded to the area with a description of the missing individual and began a search of the park and surrounding open space trails. Utilizing AIR-37’s on board camera system, AIR-37’s crew located the missing individual under heavy foliage and directed Pinole Officers to their location, where they were able to provide aid to the victim.

The blue dots you see on the screen are our Flight Officer's notes as he thoroughly searches an area. As you can see from the video, sometimes it takes a dedicated search effort and a keen eye to pick out individuals concealed under heavy tree coverage. Luckily for this victim, our CHP flight crew was able to direct responding officers from Pinole PD to his location.
