It seems that former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan and his supporters are getting on the new regime’s nerves a little bit, as they’ve decided they need a little help… from the army.

Khan has been leading a protest caravan across Pakistan towards Islamabad, gaining followers as he goes, to the point that the new regime is worried that even the police might join in. Their demands? An election. The former PM calls the new government ‘imported’ and has repeatedly accused them of colluding with the US in his ousting last month, which Khan believes was due to his friendly attitude towards Russia.

The army will be deployed under article 245 of the Pakistani constitution to ‘protect government buildings’.
