The bodycam footage of Feb. 3's officer-involved shooting on the northwest side was released by Tucson Police Department on Friday.

At around 5 p.m. Feb. 3, Tucson Police Department were dispatched to the area of Romero and Prince roads in reference to a man, later identified as 25-year-old Kevin Angelo Lyons, allegedly pointing a gun at bystanders, including children and passing vehicles.

When the responding officer, later identified as Benjamin Boschee, made contact with Lyons, the 25-year-old was allegedly armed with the replica firearm and refused multiple commands to drop the weapon.

TPD said after Lyons reportedly continued to ignore Boschee's commands, the suspect allegedly pointed his gun at the officer. The almost 20-year veteran with TPD then shot Lyons.

After treated for non-life-threatening injuries sustained in the incident, Lyons was booked into Pima County Jail on six counts of aggravated assault with a simulated deadly weapon, two charges of aggravated assault/victim under 15 and one case of aggravated assault on a peace officer.

No other injuries were reported in the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
