Police are looking for the driver of a car that sideswiped a police cruiser on I-275 and fled the scene this weekend.

The incident happened at 2:40 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, on northbound I-275 near Plymouth Road, where police were investigating a traffic crash, according to a news release from the Plymouth Township Police Department.

A police cruiser that was stopped at the scene was struck on its passenger side by a dark colored Ford Bronco, the release said. The vehicle stopped for a moment and then fled northbound on I-275 toward eastbound I-96, police said.

No injuries were reported in the crash.

Police are asking for the public’s help in finding the Ford Bronco and its driver.

Police said the Ford Bronco, which was described as “newer” looking, should have damage along the driver’s side as a result of the crash.
