On 2/22/22, A.C.E. Unit officers were in the area of 3558 MLK when they were alerted to a stolen vehicle. The vehicle in question was a grey Dodge Charger that was reported stolen on 2/18/22 and is believed to be involved in multiple burglaries within the city.

Officers confirmed the car was stolen. The drive out tag did not match the year make and model. As officers approached the Charger, the driver drove off at a high rate of speed. A.C.E. unit officers requested the APD Air Unit to assist.

The Air unit responded and maintained a visual of the Charger. While tracking the car, the Air Unit observed a Mercedes following closely behind it, which was also confirmed stolen. At one point, both the Charger and Mercedes pulled into an apartment complex and parked.

The suspect in the Charger, exited his car, and entered the passenger’s side of the Mercedes, then the duo sped off. The suspects later pulled into another apartment complex, parked the car, and ran into one of the apartments.

The Air Unit continued to monitor and provide detailed directions and real time updates to patrol officers. After an extensive search, the suspect passenger in the Mercedes, later identified as Malik St. George, surrendered to officers as they made entry into an apartment.

The second suspect, Brian Terrell, attempted to flee from officers, from the home and had to be tased before being taken into custody. Due to being tased, suspect Terrell was examined by Grady Units, with no injuries reported. Officers recovered both the stolen vehicles. Suspects George and Terrell were charged accordingly and transported to the Fulton County Jail.

This is another example of great teamwork between our specialized units. We thank and commend the APD Phoenix Air Unit and the A.C.E. unit for an outstanding job in their handling of this incident.

The Atlanta Police Department would like to remind car thieves and other fleeing criminal suspects, that we take crime seriously, and our Air Unit will stay on you, tracking your every move until our officers on the ground get you in custody. Policing from the air and ground is what we do. The risk is all yours
