CHP Airplane responded to assist with a stolen vehicle that was involved in a hit-and-run collision.

This afternoon, CHP Airplane 37 responded to assist CHP - Solano with a stolen vehicle that was involved in a hit and run collision. When Air-37 arrived overhead, ground units stopped actively pursuing the suspect vehicle.

Air-37 followed from above as the suspect vehicle recklessly drove through the City of Fairfield, Cordelia, and traveled the wrong way on I-680.

While on the city streets of Cordelia, the suspect vehicle attempted to travel the wrong way on Cordelia Road towards oncoming traffic.

When officers arrived at the suspects location, the driver accelerated away and backed into a drainage ditch. The suspect vehicle became disabled and all of the occupants were taken into custody.

CHP - Solano will be handling this investigation.
