CHP helicopter assists Contra Costa CHP with a vehicle pursuit

On Tuesday morning, shortly after midnight, CHP H-32 responded to a report that Contra Costa CHP officers were in pursuit northbound I-680.

H-32 arrived overhead as the vehicle fled at approximately 130 mph. When the vehicle exited the freeway at Parish Road, the suspect vehicle ran off the road and became disabled.

All three occupants fled on foot and were followed by H-32 that was orbiting above. With the direction of H-32s crew, all three occupants were taken into custody.

When watching the video, you may notice one of the suspects throw something into the bushes. H-32’s crew noticed that as well. A gun was recovered at that location.

CHP - Contra Costa will be the investigating this incident.
