RULES:

The object of the game is to score exactly 21 points or score an “instant win”. Setup. Place the goals 50ft apart. You can adjust this distance to accommodate different levels of skill. 4 players divide into 2 teams. Members of the same team stand at opposite goals. Pick a team to throw first. 1 player is the thrower and throws the disc from behind their goal line while the other is the deflector and tries to help deflect the disc into the goal. After the first throw, teammates swap roles and throw again. When both players on the team have thrown, this is considered 1 turn, then the next team takes a turn.

Deflectors cannot double hit, catch, or carry the disc. The deflector may move anywhere within the playing area. The opposing team may not interfere or try to defend the goal, if they do then the throwing team scores 3 points. If the throwing team is at 19 or 20 points, then the throwing team automatically wins the game.

You score 1 point if the deflector redirects the disc and it hits the outside of the goal. This is called a “dinger”. You score 2 points if the thrower hits the goal without the deflector touching it. This includes hitting the inside of the goal if the disc bounces out. This is called a “Deuce”. You score 3 points if the deflector redirects the disc and it lands inside the goal either through the top or side opening. This is called a “bucket”. You instantly win the game if the thrower lands the disc inside the goal through the top of side without the deflector touching it. This is called an “instant win”.

You do not score points if the thrower steps over the throwing line, the disc hits the ground before hitting or landing in the goal, or the deflector double hits, catches, or carries the disc. A team must reach an exact score of 21 points to win. If they go over 21 points then the points scored from that play are deducted from their score instead of added to it. For example, if a team has 20 points then scores a bucket for 3 points, their score then becomes 17.

Both teams must complete an equal number of turns before the game can end, unless someone scores an instant win. If the first team to go reaches 21 points, the 2nd team gets 1 more turn. In the event of a tie, continue playing, with each team getting an equal number of turns, until the tie is broken.
