Nexzr for the PC Engine CD is awesome! This game should have been released in the United States for the TurboGrafx 16. It might have had a fighting chance against the Super Nintendo (SNES) and Sega Genesis (Mega Drive)

Welcome to a new series of videos called, “Video Game Excitement.” We will look at some titillating video games. By the way, you can use that word in a completely benign way.

First up Nexzr on the PC Engine CD. I never played this as a kid, but man did it hook me, immediately. I can’t get past level one, but the graphics are phenomenal, and the music is spectacular!

The game looks and sounds great. Games like this might have given the system a fighting chance in the American market against Nintendo and Sega. I (wrongly) thought the TurboGrafx 16 was a joke. A friend had one and I would play it, but I always compared it to the more popular consoles. The one game I liked was “Air Zonk.” I now own in several ways. Had I played this, I might have had a difference perception of the console.
