White River Falls, Oregon, draws its water from the glaciers of Mt. Hood. It plunges 90-feet. The river meanders through the agricultural fields of the high desert making its way to the the Deschutes River and eventually out to the Columbia River onto its journey into the Pacific Ocean. In 1901 a hydroelectric power plant was constructed and generated electricity from 1910 to 1960. The best time to visit the falls is during the Spring snow melt.
