Murder suspect from Greenville, SC arrested in Atlanta

On Friday, March 11, 2022, Zone 2 Field Investigation Team (FIT) officers were alerted by a Georgia Bureau Investigator (GBI) of a possible murder suspect out of Greenville, South Carolina that was believed to be inside of a beige Honda Civic accompanied by a female and was traveling in the Atlanta area. The officers were able to locate the suspect vehicle and initiated a traffic stop in the area of Piedmont Ave NE/Monroe Dr NE. Both occupants of the vehicle were detained. The murder suspect, identified as 21-year-old Jason Daiyon Taylor, was the front passenger in the vehicle and positively identified on scene by officers.

Upon further investigation, officers were able to seize and recover illegal narcotics and a stolen firearm inside of the vehicle. Mr. Taylor was taken into custody on the outstanding murder warrant out of Greenville, South Carolina. He was also charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Firearm during commission of a Felony, Possession of Schedule 2 Controlled Substance, Possession of Schedule 4 Controlled Substance, Possession of Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Theft by Receiving Stolen Property.

Due to the quick awareness and response by Zone 2 FIT officers, they were able to safely take a murder suspect off the streets of Atlanta who was also in possession of a stolen firearm! Great work!
