Atlanta police has released video of a pursuit in which they helped Georgia State Patrol arrest a street racer -- and proved that racers are no match for the professionals.

The video, shot from an APD chopper, shows a white Ford Mustang speed away from the scene of a street racing event and later be boxed in by two troopers.

The incident happened around 11 p.m. on March 17 when Georgia State Patrol’s Nighthawks DUI Task Force responded to reports of criminal street racing activity in the area.

Troopers tried to stop the white Mustang, which sped away on Northside Drive. As Atlanta police followed the car via air, GSP troopers on the ground were hot on his tail.

Troopers performed a PIT maneuver at the intersection of Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard and Lee Street, causing the driver to spin out, but the driver accelerated.

Troopers pinned the Mustang against a curb, boxing it in on both sides. Video showed officers pulling the driver out of the car and handcuffing him.

The driver, who has not been identified, was charged with fleeing and attempting to elude, reckless stunt driving and reckless driving. Police said he is an organizer and promoter of a local criminal street racing group.

Atlanta police couldn’t help but poke a little fun at the situation.

“When your car insurance doesn’t know how you got that body damage,” APD posted on Twitter.
