Meth pipe found inside of a female driver after a high speed chase and arrest

On Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at approximately 2:00am, AIR-1 and Deputy Osthed responded to the Circle K in the 5100 block of E. Silver Springs Blvd due to receiving calls of a reckless driver in the business’ parking lot. Deputy Osthed saw the driver, later identified as 42-year-old LaToya Nichole Ashe, as she quickly turned out of the parking lot.

A traffic stop was initiated, but Ashe refused to stop and continued at a high rate of speed on E. Silver Springs Blvd. Deputy Osthed cancelled the pursuit while AIR-1 continued to follow.

Ashe pulled into a parking lot, abandoned the running vehicle, and ran into a patch of woods to hide.

However, you can’t hide from our eyes in the sky or our nose on the ground… K-9 Cpl. Batts and his K-9 Jax responded and tracked into the woods. Ashe was located hiding in some underbrush and placed under arrest. The investigation revealed that Ashe’s driver’s license was suspended indefinitely and she did not know who the owner of the vehicle was. After being transported to the Marion County Jail, during a search, detention deputies located a glass pipe containing methamphetamine residue inside her…😳... vagina.

Ashe was charged with fleeing and eluding police, smuggling contraband into the jail, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving with a suspended license.
