Volusia County deputies have released bodycam video of a DUI arrest that took place over the weekend.

Officials say it happened around 12:30 a.m. Sunday morning on International Speedway Boulevard near Daytona Beach.

Nathan Zacharias, 27, of Deltona, has been charged with three counts of DUI with damage to persons or property, failure to obey driver's license restrictions, refusal to submit to DUI testing and making a threat against a law enforcement officer.

Deputies say Zacharias was driving eastbound in the westbound lanes of traffic, causing other drivers to swerve to miss him.

"Zacharias clipped the driver's side mirror of one vehicle that swerved out of his way. Another vehicle was not able to avoid a collision, and 2 of the 4 people in it were transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries," deputies wrote in a release.

Deputies found Zacharias was slurring and smelled heavily of alcohol. His license had already been restricted due to a prior DUI in August of last year.

In the video above, Zacharias can be heard insulting the deputies, saying "you're a monster," and "you're a joke."

"When you sober up and watch this video, you're gonna see the joke," the deputy replies.

A release states the verbal abuse continued off camera, with Zacharias using racial slurs and telling one deputy he should be hanged.

He was taken to the Volusia County Branch Jail with a total bond of $9,000.
