Metropolitan police release use of force video against a suspect in the hospital

On Friday, April 22, 2022, at approximately 3:08 AM an individual who had been arrested for assaulting a Police Officer was transported to a location hospital for treatment for an injury. While walking into the hospital, the individual became disorderly with the involved officer and refused to comply with directions. The involved officers pushed the individual into a chair. The individual told the involved officer that he did not want to sit down. At that time, the involved officer made contact with the neck of the individual.

The use of the neck restrain is prohibited by DC Code and MPD policy and in considered a serious use of force.
