The Richland County Sheriff's Department has released the dash camera video and the 911 call of the officer-involved shooting on March 19.

Officials say they are releasing this information to be "completely transparent with the community and in an effort to provide clarity to misstatements that this was a mental health call for service."

The Richland County Sheriff's Department said the following with the release of the phone call and video:

In the 911 call, you will hear that this was a dangerous situation with a knife that the deputies are responding to. The caller states that the individual has a knife and has already assaulted several family members.
The dashcam video will show how quickly and aggressively the man charged towards the officer.

The body camera video has been viewed by the coroner, solicitor, citizen advisory council, and the family.
