RULES:
The object of the game is to get all 3 of your pawns from start to home. Layout the board and place the base into the center, along with Simon, so the colors align. Each player picks a color and places their 3 pawns on their matching color start space. Turn on Simon and each player presses their color to select it. After a few seconds the game will begin. The green player always goes first then play proceeds clockwise. If no one selected green, then the next player clockwise goes.
On your turn, Simon will announce your color, then you press that color. Simon will light up a color and you must repeat the color by pressing it. The patter starts at 1 and with each player’s turn it increases by 1. If you press the pattern correctly, Simon will tell you how many spaces to move. Move one of your pawns that many spaces clockwise around the board. If you fail to repeat the pattern, then your turn ends and you do nothing and the color pattern will reset to 1 for the next player. To end your turn, press your color button. Then the next player takes their turn by pressing their color button.
You may move a pawn out of your start space with any forward movement. When moving, jump over any pawn in your way, counting that as 1 space. If you land on the same space as any opponent’s pawn, bump that pawn back to its start. Your pawns may not share a space. If your only possible move would require you to land on a space you already occupy, then you do nothing and skip your turn. All moves are mandatory, if you have a legal move, you must take it even if you don’t want to.
If you land on the start of a slide space, indicated by a triangle, and your pawn matches one of the slide’s colors, the you can move your pawn to the end of the slide and bump any pawns, including your own, in your way back to their start. When your pawn makes it all the way around the board, you may not proceed past your colored entry space, but instead you enter your safety zone and cross the 3 safety spaces before getting to your home. You do not need to enter by exact count. You may not enter an opponent’s safety zone.
If Simon says Sorry, then you must move a pawn from your start to any opponent’s space on the outer track of the board and bump that pawn back to its start. If there are no opponent’s pawns to bump, then you skip your turn and do nothing. If Simon says switch, then switch the positions of any 2 pawns on the outer track of the board. If you switch onto a slide, you do not perform the slide.
The first player to get all 3 of their pawns to their home, wins. Hold down your color button for 3 seconds to end the game. To turn Simon off, press and hold all 4 buttons at the same time. Simon goes to sleep after 3 minutes of inactivity. To wake Simon up, press any button. During the setup of the game, to turn the volume up, press and hold the red and blue buttons. To turn the volume down, press and hold the green and yellow buttons.
