RULES:

Place the robot on the table. Remove the 4 house rule cards from the deck and set them aside then deal 7 cards to each player. Flip over the top card of the deck to form the discard pile in the tray on the robot’s head. If any action card is the first card flipped, then return it to the deck and flip a new card. Turn on the robot. Each player then takes turns pressing and holding down the red record button, then speaking their name, then releases the button when they are done. Each name can be up to 3 seconds long.

Once everyone has recorded their name, press down on the discard pile once. The robot will call out one person’s name, and that person will record a special house rule. The recording can be up to 10 seconds long. If you don’t want to have a house rule, press the discard pile to skip this step and begin the game. If you can’t think of your own house rule, you can choose one from the house rule cards. If you choose a house rule challenge card, players race to complete the challenge and the last player to finish the challenge draws 2 cards.

At the beginning of the game the robot will call out the name of the player who will go first, then play proceeds clockwise. Whenever you discard a card, or multiple cards, during normal play, press the discard pile 1 time. The robot will beep once to confirm. Do not press the discard pile when discarding cards for a surprise command or if you end your turn without discarding cards.

The robot will interrupt your game from time to time with either a noise, a surprise command, or your house rule. If it is a surprise command, the robot will identify specific players and tell them what to do and you do it. Then the robot will also call out the name of a player who will continue the game.

If a surprise command or house causes one or more cards to be discarded, the new cards cancel any card it covers up and then affects whatever player resumes play. Surprise commands and house rules interrupt the game momentarily, so if a draw two was played then the robot changes the play order to a different person, that new person would draw the 2 cards. Or if a wild draw 4 was played and the robot causes someone to discard a red 3, then whoever resumes play wouldn’t have to draw the four cards and they would continue playing off of the red 3.

If a house rule or surprise command causes you to discard multiple cards at once and you would go out, you must discard the cards one at a time and yell uno when you get to your last card before you discard it. if you don’t and another player catches you, you must draw 2 cards immediate before you can continue discarding. Only press the discard pile once even if you discarded more than one card.

The first player to play all their cards wins and presses the blue trophy button. If you want to play again, press down the discard pile to play with the same players. Turn the robot off then on if you want to play with new players. After a minute of no activity, the robot will beep to let you know it is getting ready to go to sleep. Press the discard pile to keep it awake. If the robot goes to sleep your current game will be lost.
