RULES:

The rules are the same as regular chess except for these changes. For a refresher of those rules, check out this video. Layout the board and setup the pieces on opposing ends of the infinity loops. From the center out, the rear rank pieces are arranged in this order: rook, knight, bishop, then king and queen with the queen on its matching color. Place pawns surrounding these pieces. Each side of the board will be offset from the other so that White uses the spaces up from the center and black uses the spaces down from the center as shown. Even though the spaces are bigger, only 1 piece is allowed to occupy a space at a time. Each space, no matter how big, still only counts as a single space when moving pieces.

All pieces move the same as regular chess with these added distinctions. Pawns always move towards their enemy’s side of the board. When a pawn is in the center grid, it may change directions to enter the enemy’s loop from either direction. A pawn is not allowed to capture backwards towards its own loop. Pawns are promoted when they move to any of the enemy’s rear rank starting positions.

The knight may not jump any gaps in the board that aren’t spaces. The knight must still travel in an “L” shape through lateral spaces. The bishop may only move in one diagonal direction per move. It must continue traveling through the opposite corner of the space it entered, it may not change directions if it runs into an inside or outside edge. The inside corners of the board of each infinity loop are connected and pieces can travel diagonally across them.

The rook can move in one lateral direction per move. It must continue traveling through the opposite lateral edge of the space it entered, it may not change directions if the it runs into an inside or outside edge. You are allowed to castle by moving your king towards the rook 2 spaces and the rook to the opposite side of the king.

Queens utilize the same movement distinctions of the rook and bishop combined. All other rules of chess that are not specifically address, remain unchanged and must be followed.
