A bull and other animals escaped Wednesday afternoon from a gated pen at a Stafford home, police said.

The 1-year-old bull, named Baby Cow, was found by an officer in the area of Hilliard Boulevard and Beach Avenue in downtown Manahawkin, a section of Stafford, around 2 p.m., Stafford Police Capt. James Vaughn told NJ Advance Media. A couple of pigs of a goat also escaped from the pen.

An officer who arrived was able to hold them animals at bay until animal control could come and lead them safely back to the pen with the help of some food, Vaughn said.

Body cam footage from the officer posted on the department’s Facebook page showed the young bull rip a mailbox from the ground as he waited for the animal control to arrive.

“She’s busy assaulting a mailbox right now,” the officer jokingly said as observed the animal before calling out “moo, moo cow” to it.
