Repairing Al Gore's Favorite Tube Amp - Fender Excelsior Pawn Shop Special Series

This amp was part of the Fender amplifier series called the "Pawnshop Series". This series included the Ramparte, the Vaporizer, the Greta, and the amp you see here - the EXCELSIOR! It came to me cooking tubes and being generally rude, nasty, and sounding like a WAP. It was like the Cardi B of amplifiers. In this video, we'll troubleshoot and repair what's ailing it, namely some red plating power tubes, then we'll demo it with a PRS and a Stratocaster. Along the way, I'll show you some of the good and bad aspects of this model and we'll perform a couple tiny mods and rebias for early breakup.
