RULES:
Layout the board and arrange the pawns on the 2nd row. On the first row, from right to left setup: Rook knight, bishop, queen, king, bishop, knight, bishop, rook. Take note that the sides are not mirrored and that each player has 1 extra pawn and 1 extra bishop.

A Rook can move any number of spaces in a straight line from any adjacent space.

The bishop can move diagonally along the apex lines any number of spaces. Diagonal movement is used by following the line from an apex of the piece’s current space to the next space.

The queen combines the moves of the rook and bishop.

Kings may move to any adjacent space or 1 diagonal space. Castling is allowed under the normal conditions of chess. If you castle King side, the king moves 2 spaces towards the rook then the rook moves to the other side. If you castle queen side. Then the king moves 3 spaces towards the rook, then the rook moves to the other side.

The knight moves the same as regular chess along adjacent spaces.

The pawn can only move 1 space forward and they captures 1 space diagonally through an apex. A pawn is allowed to move up to 3 spaces on its first move of the game. En Passant is allowed on pawns that make a multi-step move.

Pawns promote when they arrive on one of the 9 opposite most hexes of the board.

The first player to checkmate their opponent wins.
