Injured hiker hoisted by CHP helicopter within Skyline Park

Yesterday afternoon, CHP H-30 responded to a report of an injured hiker within Skyline Park in Napa.

The H-30 crew responded with CAL FIRE/Napa County Fire Department, Napa State Hospital Fire, and AMR Napa County.

Once overhead, the H-30 crew located the patient off trail and under a tree. H-30 deployed a crew member to the scene who placed the hiker into a rescue harness.

Hovering above the hiker at approximately 75 feet and working with 30 knots winds, the hiker was hoisted from the trail to H-30 and flown to a nearby LZ.
The patient was transferred to AMR who transported her to a local hospital for treatment.
