RULES:
Whenever your piece captures an opponent’s piece, that piece changes to your opponent’s color and is now controlled by your opponent. The exception is for kings, when a king captures, it keeps its current color. If a pawn promotes from a capture, then the owner of that pawn chooses what piece it is promoted to before it changes colors. You may not capture a piece if it results in checking your king. The first player to checkmate their opponent wins.
