Detroit Skyline and Cityscape, 3D Printed

Detailed, 3D printed map of downtown Detroit, Michigan, USA. The printed map area is an exact scale replica of Detroit, including all three sports stadiums and a portion of the Detroit River.

This model was made by first collecting ultra detailed Lidar data for the area and generating a digital 3D file. Next, the file was converted to a format accepted by 3D printers and printed with metallic silver PLA filament. This model took approximately 9 hours to print.

This is the ideal gift for the Detroit native. Can be placed on a table or desk as a conversation piece, framed and hung on the wall, or placed on a display stand for your bookshelf or mantle place. You could also use this as the basis for your own art project- paint the tile as you see fit using acrylic paint.
