This saltwater Fish is one of my favorites that I have kept the dwarf variety in my home aquaria.  It is venomous - all the dorsal and lateral spines are tipped with venomous tips- very painful!  They hunt by herding their prey into a corner and swallowing it whole, using the outstretched spines to herd the prey.  They are crafty hunters and in some parts of the world they have decimated prey species.  They are good to eat, though, so many fishermen will hunt them at will.  Lion fish will eat other fish nearly as big as they are.

It was a big challenge to re-create this beautiful fish for you!  I hope my work pleases you!  Please follow me to see more work as I make it.  Each piece is very different!

Thank you for watching!
