Two teens in a reportedly stolen car led police early Tuesday morning on a chase into Cleveland, ending when the driver crashed into an RTA bus stop in the Old Brooklyn neighborhood.

No one was at the bus stop when the crash occurred, Parma police say. The two suspects are both 16-year-old Cleveland residents.

The chase started just after 1 a.m. when a Parma officer tried to pull over a gray Ford Fusion, police say. The driver refused to stop and took off east on Orchard Avenue to West 54th Street.

The Fusion went north on West 54th to Brookpark Road, where a police officer was able to put down a spike strip. Although the Fusion went over the strip, it continued north on State Road to Pearl Road in Cleveland. When the Fusion turned onto Pearl Road, it lost control and crashed into the bus stop, police say.

The driver tried to run from the area but was caught by officers. The passenger was taken into custody as soon as he got out of the car, police say. Neither suspect was injured.

The Fusion was reported stolen out of Cleveland, according to police. Both teens were taken to the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Detention Center.
