The Colosseum is a massive Roman amphitheater in the heart of Rome that is in the shape of an enormous egg and is 189 meters in length. It was built between 70 and 72 AD under the Roman Empire.

The Colosseum is considered one of the greatest feats of Roman architecture and engineering, and it attracts tourists from all over the world. A powerful earthquake in the Middle Ages caused part of the Colosseum to collapse.

The massive statue of Nero, which stands next to the Roman amphitheater, was given the name Colosseum.
