BUNHAE #19 "Knockdown/Rise-up" High Block
Once the opponent's hand makes contact, and using the outward stepping motion to get off the attack line, we use the cross of the "high-block" motion to strike down on the arm, causing a slight whiplash effect exposing the head and neck of opponent, by which we are able to use the completion of the "block" as a forearm strike.

BUNHAE is Korean meaning to dissect, break apart and analyze. The more common term is Bunkai in Japanese.
The study of Bunhae is paramount to fully understanding and learning to apply the movements found in traditional martial arts.

This drill is NOT for fighting, but drills such as this one are to practice utilizing basic techniques in a more functional way for self-defense.
