Today Chef EK makes a hot cross bun(Passover bread). This traditional bread is usually made to commemorate good Friday. Follow this easy recipe the next time you want to make your bread at home! Fermenting:
1)Add the yeast, sugar and luke warm water together in a bowl and cover with plastic
You should see the yeast eat the sugar, rise and bubble for about 30 minutes

After your yeast ferments, add half of the flour and the cardamom and mix well.

Add the rest of the ingredients half at a time and mix and knead until your dough is soft and smooth

Proof the dough in the bowl you used to initially make it, add a little flour on the bottom so it does not stick to the bowl

Proof for 2 hours or until the dough doubles in size

Flatten your proofed dough to the shape of the mold (8 inch pan)

Cover it with plastic wrap and let rise for 10 more minutes

Make the Cross on top by mixing flour and water to a liquid-paste consistency

More traditional recipes have you make a cross that spans the whole loaf, end to end. you are free to do that if you wish

Pipe your cross

Bake at 200c/400f for about 20 minutes.
