March 2021, Farm chores & property management at the Southern Illinois farm. Join us for today's episode as I take out the Bobcat mini excavator (Bobcat e42) for one of my 'to do' tasks on our Southern Illinois farm. This is one of about 6 different small ponds around our farm, aka watering holes, watering ponds, wildlife scrapes, wildlife ponds and more slang terms. We created all of these small ponds for wildlife management and wildlife habitat improvement as small ponds like this support a very diverse wildlife population, especially with year round water. We had a pretty thick crop of cattails grow in the pond for the last 2 years, so it was time to thin them out a little and remove some pond sludge sediment that also accumulated over the last few years. Thanks for joining me for some fresh air and some seat time in the mini excavator, and as always if you enjoy our content please hit the like button and share it to help us grow our country living and land management family here on YouTube. Also consider subscribing to follow our most recent land flip rehab investment as we just signed a contract purchasing 40 acres of land with an old 2 story cabin that needs to be demolished and the land needs a lot of machine work to improve it for a future sale.
