Step 1: Brain Spike
Step 2: Bleed Fish
Step 3: Shinkei Jime
Step 4: Cool Down

I tried the Ikejime (活け締め) Japanese fish preparation method on this trip on all but one of the reds. I took a couple fillets of each (Ikejime'd and non) to see if I would see a difference after keeping them in the fridge for couple of days. The difference was noticeable. The Ikejime fillet had a clean white pearl look to it while the regular one, well, looked like it usually does. I want to do this again and take the test even further. More to come.

We launched out of Marina Del Rey Harbor and headed out towards Malibu. The ocean was a little rough on this day. We metered around for a few minutes till we located some nice looking marks. I engaged my Spot-Lock and it was game on. From the moment we started fishing it was Red after Red with a few others mixed in. I had a blast, I love being deckhand for "ma boyz".
