Holly and I went to the Bluegrass Heritage Bluegrass Festival in April and had a great time. They do everything in house within the Double Tree Hotel. Alan Thompkins and his team work very hard to make the entire weekend seamless for patrons. Breakfast is served to all those who attend and stay at the hotel. The sound and lights during the festival was great. If you didn't want to eat at the hotel there are plenty of restaurants in the area that are within walking distance to choose from. If you are traveling with a pet, there is a very nice walking trail and dog park located behind the hotel.
On Saturday Morning the state banjo, guitar, and mandolin competition was held. Every contestant was amazing. There are many talented folks out there. After the shows there is some late night pickin' downstairs in the designated areas.

Special Consensus, Appalachian Road Show, Tennessee Bluegrass Band, East Mountain, Bobby Giles and the Texas Gales, Riley Gilbreth, and more.
