Finally: Saab reveals the completed MSHORAD air defense system.

Air threats continue to grow. SAAB's MSHORAD solutions provide highly mobile and robust anti-air capabilities to effectively identify, prevent or neutralize airborne threats.

Air threats continue to grow. To address this growing threat, modern radar systems must compete with high-energy laser weapons, electronic warfare, unmanned aerial vehicles, and guided munitions, without leaving any targets unnoticed.

Czech vehicle manufacturers SVOS and Sweden's Saab Dynamics have completed joint development of the short-range air defense system (MSHORAD) with a test fire, SVOS and Saab wrote in a press release.

Within the scope of this effort, SVOS transferred the protected Multi-role armored System (MARS) S-300 4×4 vehicle to Saab as a transport vehicle in the second half of 2021. The vehicle is based on a ladder frame using, for the most part, components Approved. NATO. The two-axle vehicle can carry a total weight of 14 tonnes, including over two tonnes of payload. The wheels are individually height-adjustable to increase off-road mobility and provide a level platform when needed. Crew is protected up to Level 3 from ballistic and explosion threats according to STANG 4569.

Our Mobile Short-Range Air Defense (MSHORAD) solution incorporates the Giraffe 1X radar, C2 command and control communications platform, and the RBS 70 NG Remote Weapon Station (RWS) for rapid and effective identification and countermeasures of air threats. In short, MSHORAD will detect any target, react and attack when the time is critical.
