IllumiGnostic Wept! LiveScream: The Socio-economic Impact of COVID-19 in the Amazon

The socio-economic impacts of COVID-19 are worsening, and certainly showing no signs of alleviating. Nowhere are families and businesses impacted more than here in the Amazon. Child-sex trafficking, drug trafficking, murder-for-hire, and all sorts of crime are on the rise as people become increasingly desperate for survival. The animals are disappearing at an unprecedented rate as locals eat monkeys, anacondas, macaws, and anything that they encounter in the interest of survival. Governments are selling off mineral rights, and granting unprecedented access to the rainforest to Chinese mining interests and other engines of economic destruction, citing economic desperation as justification.
Tonight I will share some of the horrors that i have witnessed with my own two eyes, but I will also share a few stories of inspiration, and describe what myself and my family are doing to try to help the people and the forest here in the Ecuadorian Amazon.
