Placer County Sheriff Wayne Woo Sex Allegations with Minor 4-1-2022

This is my concerned citizen commentary on Placer County Undersheriff Wayne Woo who is running for Placer County Sheriff on 6/7-2022 against Sergeant Brandon Bean. Undersheriff Wayne Woo has sexual misconduct with a minor allegations against him. His subordinate conducted the internal investigation on this matter. This appears to be a conflict of interest. Sheriff Devon Bell is not being transparent about the investigation and will not have a neutral third-party law enforcement agency investigate this alleged incident. Citizens need to demand answers now!

Below are questions that everyone should be asking Placer County Sheriff and Devon Bell:

1. Was any part of the investigation found to be true?
2. Who investigated the allegations?
3. Is it appropriate to have a subordinate investigate their supervisor?
4. Who made the decision that the allegations were unfounded?
5. If the case was investigated as a criminal case, isn’t it true that the report from that investigation would be a public record?
6. Given the accusation was criminal in nature did the Sheriff’s office refer the case to the District Attorneys' office for their review?
7. If the accusation is “unfounded” and “baseless” why don’t you release the statement you gave regarding the accusation to the public?
8. If the accusation is “unfounded” and “baseless” why don’t you authorize the release of the investigation with the alleged victims’ names redacted?
9. When a conflict of interest exists isn’t it common practice to have another law enforcement agency involved in the investigation?
Below are a few questions that should be asked of Wayne Woo:

1. What was the nature of the allegation against you that were “completely unfounded?”
2. Did you admit to a sexual relationship with the alleged victim?
3. Since you are running for Sheriff, do you believe the public has a right to determine if these accusations were objectively investigated and objectively determined to be unfounded?
4. Do you consider Devon Bell your friend? Do you associate with him outside of work? Have you ever gone on vacation with him?
