Louise has been led to believe her mother is a society matron named Mrs. E. Worthington Manville who lives at the Hotel Marberry. Annie discovers her charade is in danger of being uncovered when she learns Louise is sailing to New York with her fiancé Carlos and his father, Count Romero.

It Happened One Night is a 1934 pre-Code American romantic comedy film with elements of screwball comedy directed and co-produced by Frank Capra, in collaboration with Harry Cohn, in which a pampered socialite (Claudette Colbert) tries to get out from under her father's thumb and falls in love with a roguish reporter (Clark Gable). The plot is based on the August 1933 short story "Night Bus" by Samuel Hopkins Adams, which provided the shooting title. Classified as a "pre-Code" production, the film is among the last romantic comedies created before the MPPDA began rigidly enforcing the 1930 Motion Picture Production Code in July 1934. It Happened One Night was released just four months prior to that enforcement.

An eccentric from a small town inherits millions and visits New York, much to his sorrow. A warm comedy directed on film by Frank Capra. Mr. Deeds Goes to Town was voted the best comedy of 1936 by the New York critics. The story begins in the little town of Mandrake Falls with a population of 600 country folk where two men clearly city folk, have arrived to see Mr. Deed. One of the men is an attorney who has come with the news that Mr. Deed has been left $20,000,000.

Dan is encouraged to follow his dream by his unwed sister-in-law Alice and stable hand Whitey.
