The nature of politics 'has changed forever': Sharri Markson

Sharri Markson says while Scott Morrison was “thoroughly rejected” at the federal election, Labor was “not embraced by voters in equal measure”.
“The Liberal Party may take over a decade to recover from a defeat so catastrophic, such a dire result, that there’s been a loss of, could be around 22 seats,” Ms Markson said.
“This is also a poor showing for Labor, with the weakest mandate of any party forming government - with about only one in three people actually voting for them."
She also said there is a “record high number” of 16 MPs on the crossbench.
“We’ve got the rise of the Greens, the teals and other votes, and this indicates that the nature of politics has changed forever.”
