Plasencia Alma Fuerte Generacion V Salomon Review: https://www.cigarscore.com/cigar-review-plasencia-alma-fuerte-generacion-v/

As humans, we have several senses that not only help us survive but help us enjoy the world around us. And today I'm thankful for my sense of smell because the La Palina Goldie Laguito No. 6 smells absolutely amazing.

However, the La Palina Goldie's impressiveness doesn't end at my nose. Visually, this cigar looks every bit worth its $23 price tag. The Ecuadorian wrapper is smooth and leathery, and this cigar not only smells premium but looks like it as well. However, standing in stark contrast to the wonderful wrapper is a small crack on the Goldie's shoulder that could have a negative impact on the draw.

After using my guillotine cutter to cut right where the cap was torn, the La Palina Goldie Laguito No. 6 offered up flavors that were light and leathery on the cold draw.

Once the cigar was lit the aroma was wonderful and the flavors were not only mild, but they offered a kick as well. Interesting. Let's see how this goes!

Final Thoughts

If you're looking for a great cigar to pair with a cup of coffee, I don't think the La Palina Goldie Laguito No. 6. Not only is it fairly pricey, but it lasts for quite a bit longer than a single cup-o-joe. While that in and of itself is not a bad thing, the Goldies isn't a great flavor companion to my blend of beans.

Aside from how the Goldie paired with coffee… the burn was mostly even for most of the cigar and we had a mostly good draw. The first third was quite spicy, but then the cigar mellowed out as the cedar flavors were replaced with those of leather.

While there was nothing really wrong with this cigar, I wanted more. And, for the price, I would have hoped for more complexity, a flawless cap, and maybe a little less glue holding down the paper label. For these reasons, the La Palina Goldie Laguito No. 6 earns a CigarScore 4.
