Rain Oh Rain is a lesser known country folk song. I don't know who wrote this song. I heard a part of it many years ago. in a video called A Home For Virgie. Heres the link:

This is my clawhammer banjo with vocal version. It`s pretty rough in spots so I`ll upload it without notifying subscribers. I have a guitar version posted as well.

Here is the best rendition I have heard. It`s by Tracey, KittenClaws Guitar Videos.

Rain Oh Rain - lyrics

Performed by, Dan D. Dirges

I was born one rainy morning
Just before my mama died
Five years later daddy left me
The rain was pouring down outside

Rain oh rain leave me alone
You're icy fingers chill my bones
Seems like trouble always comes around
Each time the rain starts a falling down

It seems the years pass by so quickly
I grew up fast I grew apart
Next thing I knew the rain was falling
Out across the prison yard

Now when I die wont you make me this promise
To bury me in a deep dark cave
So I may know while I am resting
No rain will fall upon my grave
