In this video, we will focus on the 10 most common mistakes home buyers make and what can you as a home buyer do to avoid them.

#1. Putting the cart before the horse- starting to look for homes before knowing your budget.
We all love looking at pretty houses! We spend endless hours on Zillow or some other eye-candy website, looking at a variety of homes and getting excited. Avoid disappointments, get your home loan pre-approved first, then go ahead and look for a house to buy.
#2. Following your “Love-at-First-Sight” Gut. In short, all of our clients are encouraged to approach each real estate purchase as an investment.
#3. Disregarding Current Housing Market Trends
The housing market fluctuates, be in the “know” when it comes to local real estate market trends and be prepared.
#4. Overlooking the Home Resale Value
Another huge mistake you can make when buying a house is not considering the fact that you may need to resell the house you intend to buy. You should never overlook the resale value of the home you intend to purchase.
#5. Choosing and Trusting Unsuitable Agent to represent you
Involving an agent is highly recommended in the home buying process, but make sure you choose wisely. The right real estate agent can take a huge burden off your shoulders when it comes to looking for the right neighborhood and the perfect house for you.

Understand all fees, as some might not be readily observe. Hidden fees, such as closing costs, lender’s fees, prepaid items etc., might lead to unwanted surprise and disappointment.

You need a real person, equipped with all pertinent knowledge in regards to local real estate, neighborhoods, areas, etc. to be your eyes, nose and ears, a trusted adviser who besides all of the above-mentioned, would have your best interests at heart. Real estate is a people business that no Artificial Intelligence can ever replace or even compete with.
