Eddie Guerrero was a Mexican-American wrestler who came from a wrestling family with a long history. He had a natural affinity for wrestling and entertainment. He was a part of Mexican wrestling promotions before breaking into the major ring in the United States. He had already competed for Extreme Championship Wrestling, World Championship Wrestling, and World Wrestling Entertainment, thus he had multiple performances under his belt. He had become the top wrestler on SmackDown, in addition to being immensely famous among wrestling fans due to his magnetic attitude. His extraordinary variety and unique gimmicks drew a large audience, and he went on to win multiple titles before his career was cut short due to his addiction issues.

Crowley began wrestling for Shimmer in 2013. She began working with Shine and Stardom wrestling in the following years. She secured a contract with WWE in 2016.
