Planting Onions with Rocket! 4-5-21

It is an unseasonably warm spring planting day--just one day after Easter! It was tempting to plant sweet corn and green beans, but chances are, we'd have to re-plant in a few weeks so we are waiting.

However, Stan tilled up a small piece on the west end of the garden for snow peas; he said he'll plant potatoes maybe tomorrow. Also tilled up the spot by the shed where we had ground cherries last year and planted lots of onion--yellow and Candy. We planted the rest of the onions--the red ones, mainly--on the west side of the house, along with some spinach and lettuce. I covered the onions this year, so there will be no blaming Stan for planting them too deep and getting small bulbs...

Rocket was in usual Rocket form today, fighting like a miniature Don Quixote with giant garden hoes and evil row string. Then he rested on top of the front-tine rototiller...
