Soul Speak #12 - The Amygdala - Gateway to God Reality?

I will not deny that every now and then my mind will want to pull me back into that 'helpless' mode, because there is some comfort to be had in 'being taken care of'. It can become tiring to carry the responsibility for our life long term, and in that exhaustion the 'mind' seeks refuge in a 'higher power' (God).

I am not saying that doesn't exist, I think the part I am trying to point out may get lost in all of these words... the psychological aspect of us is very complex and generated by so many things... subconscious emotions... if we feel a lot of fear, the psyche will accommodate us in creating a 'reality' that brings us mental stability. Maybe in a sense the idea of 'God' (and how we personally define that) is one of these means. I asked myself the question the other day, what makes something 'real' to us? Again, this entire 'universe' or super-natural occurrence really does take place within our amygdala.

Amygdala, region of the brain primarily associated with emotional processes. The name amygdala is derived from the Greek word amygdale, meaning “almond,” owing to the structure's almondlike shape. ... The amygdala is part of the limbic system, a neural network that mediates many aspects of emotion and memory.

A lot of this 'wonderfully and fearfully made' physical body we inhabit was not understood or describable in these biological and scientific terms, in times past. And the best way to describe it was to use magical and super-natural descriptions of 'God' and 'angels' EXTERNALLY of us.

I am in the process of understanding all of these things in their complexity as taking place within myself. And thus we get the saying 'As within so without' or 'As above so below'. We are the mirror of it ALL.
