Valerie Wrede got the flying bug when her boyfriend Stephen showed her YouTube videos of Paramotoring last spring. She thought she’d learn to fly at some point in her life, but wasn’t sure when or how and hadn’t even heard of paramotoring before!!She grew up moving (California, Germany, Texas, Arizona, England, and New Mexico before age 18 because her dad was in the military). She realized the Air Force was a great way to pay for school, so she joined and was stationed in Illinois, Japan, and Germany before moving to the Pacific Northwest, where she’s lived the last ten years. She works full-time in the medical field, and loves to scuba dive and do underwater video.  After training with Team Fly Halo during the summer of 2020, she wanted to improve her ‘bump tolerance’ so attended an SIV course. She learned so much and even got out of a riser twist! Still a newbie, she has 53 flights since training and flies as often as work schedule and the winds allow.
