The Gospel in the Feeding of the Five Thousand (Matthew 14:13-21)

The Gospel message is hidden in many Bible stories that appear to be unrelated, including the feeding of the five thousand. It's no wonder that this story appears in all four of the Gospel narratives! Matthew 14, Mark 6, Luke 9, and John 6.

5 barley loaves.
2 fishes.
12 baskets of leftover bread.
5000 men, plus women and children.

It all means something, and it's all important.
