This is part two of the history of Northern State hospital in Sedro-Wooley Washington, at its height this hospital housed 2700 patients in addition to the forced labor as part of their treatment they are also subject to heavy sedation experiments, electric shock therapy and the new medical procedure of its time the lobotomy. Many patients died here some naturally, some from botched medical experiments and some from suicide. So many died and not claimed by family that the hospital stopped burying them and built a crematory. Many were simply placed in old food cans and labeled with their patient number. Children from the town nearby often came to play with the people at the bug house as it was called. In addition to that, the patients enjoyed some entertainment such as baseball games, dances, movies and concerts.
