Russian Aerospace Forces conducted a successful launch of the Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle from Plesets

May 19, 2022 - Today, at 11:03 a.m. (Moscow time), the crew of the Russian Space Forces successfully launched the Soyuz-2.1a medium launch vehicle carrying a spacecraft for the Russian Ministry of Defence from the State Testing Ground of the Ministry of Defence in Arkhangelsk Region.

The launch vehicle was launched and the spacecraft was delivered to the orbit as planned.

The Soyuz-2.1a rocket was received by ground control facilities at the Main Space Centre three minutes after take-off.

At the estimated time, the spacecraft was launched into its target orbit and taken over by Ground Control Devices of the Space Forces of the Russian Aerospace Forces.

In total, more than 30 land-based assets and over 50 combat crews of the 15th Army of the Aerospace Forces were involved in supporting the launch of the spacecraft of the Russian Ministry of Defence.
